 Samsung unleashed a bevy of home theater products, including the Home Digital Media Adapter (DMA), the BD-P1500 Blu-ray player, and the DVD-R175 Full Multi-Format, High-Definition DVD Recorder.The Home Digital Media Adapter (DMA) is compatible with selected Samsung 2008 HDTV models. The box features Microsoft's Media Center Extender electronic program guide, a customizable UI, HDMI plug-and-play, RJ-45 connectivity, optional 802.11n module for wireless connectivity, a sleek form factor to match the company's other products, and a special mount to allow for wall-mounting the unit behind certain HDTV models.
The fourth-generation Samsung Blu-ray player (BD-P1500) is expected in May. The unit offers BD/CD/DVD playback, resolution up to 1080p, upconversion of standard resolution media to 720p, 1080i and 1080p, an HDMI 1.3 connection, and an RJ-45 connection for ease of updating firmware as well as BD Profile 1.1.
The DVD-R175 is a multiformat recorder with upscaling scheduled for release in April. For around $149, owners will be able to avail themselves of a plethora of features. The recorder can handle RAM/-R/-RW/+R/+RW and Dual Layer formats.
